2004 Club Awards.   Northwest Juniors Volleyball Club   held our annual Club Awards Barbecue on Saturday, July 10th at Mercer Island Lid Park.  Coaches gave their end of year speeches and the following players were given awards, congratulations to these and all 2004 NW Juniors Members:

9/26/04: 15 Thunder player Kyra-Li Hom (Garfield HS) was featured in a story in the West Seattle Herald describing her phenomenal writing talents. [Read it]

 

Sept: Jennifer Mooth (18 Storm, Decatur HS c/o 2004), was invited to try out at Brigham Young University, and was selected as a rostered  (see page 2) player for the 2004 season.

 

 

MAY & JUNE, 2004

·         June 27-July 2: 17 Thunder, 16 Storm, 15 Thunder and 14 Strom at Volleyball Festival in Reno, NV. [RESULTS]

·         June 24-27: 18 Storm at the USAV Junior Invitational in Austin, TX.  [INFO] -- 18 STORM RESULTS:

Thursday, 6/24: 2-1 in Pool (2nd Place) . Def. SF Juniors Black 25-23, 25-13; lost to TX Assault 18 Molten 15-25, 21-25 ; Def. PCC Kokoro 18 Blue 25-22, 25-13. Still in the hunt for the GOLD Division.

Friday, 6/25: 2-1 in Pool (2nd Place).  Def. Austin Jrs 25-17, 25-20; Def. Sang Gabriel BSN 25-16, 21-25, 15-13; Lost to Lincoln Start City 16-25, 21-25.  Still in the hunt for the GOLD.

Saturday, 6/26: 1-2 in Pool (4th Place). Lost to TX Assault 18-25, 21-25; Lost to SF Juniors 19-25, 22-25; Def. Sudden Impact 18's 20-25, 27-25, 15-10.  Play in SILVER Division Sunday.

Sunday, 6/27: Def. San Gabriel BSN 2 games to 0; Def. Zero Gravity 2 games to 0; FINALS Def. West Bend 18 Purple 25-22, 25-19.  SILVER DIVISION CHAMPIONS, 5th OVERALL!!!

·         [READ COACH JASON'S DAILY REPORT] June 18-20: 16 Tornado at the ASICS Jr. National Volleyball Championships in Chicago, Ill.

·         June 12th: 16 Storm 5th in Gold at Puget Sound Volleyball Club Tournament.

·         June 13th: 18 Storm 3rd in Gold at Puget Sound Volleyball Club Tournament.

May 29-31: 18 Storm takes 5th in 18 Open Silver Division, 15 Thunder tied for 5th in 16 Club Silver Division and 14 Storm tie for 9th in the 14 Open Gold division at the Emerald City Classic

·         May 23: 18 Cyclone, 16 Cyclone and 16 Tornado all tied for 5th at BCC Volleyball fundraiser.

·         May 8: 16 Storm take 2nd in GOLD, 15 Thunder take 5th in GOLD and 15 Tempest take 1st in Silver at NW Juniors Adidas Series, Bellevue Community College.

·         May 8: 14 Storm take 2nd in GOLD and 14 Cyclone take ??? at Island Thunder U14 Tournament, Mercer Island HS.

·         May 1-2: 18 Storm take 4th in GOLD, 16 Storm take 9th in GOLD, 17 Thunder take 5th in Silver, 16 Cyclone tie for 7th in Bronze, 16 Avalanche & 16 Tornado both tie for 9th in Bronze,  18 Cyclone take 9th in Silver at PSR JUNIOR REGIONALS.

APRIL, 2004

·         April 24-25: 14 Storm take 3rd in Gold at PSR U14 Junior Regionals.

·         April 24-25: 15 Thunder & 15 Tempest shine at  PSR U15 Junior Regionals.  15 Thunder defeats 15 Tempest in the final of the Bronze as NW Juniors takes 1-2 in division 2.

·         April 17: 14 Storm Gold division CHAMPIONS at the Skagit Tulip Festival.

·        

·         April 16-18: 18 Storm, 17 Thunder, 16 Storm & 15 Thunder at Far Western Qualifier, Reno, NV.  18 Storm wins Flight 3 in the open division.

·         April 10th:  16 Cyclone & 16 Tornado in NW Juniors Adidas series 16 Cyclone tied for 5th in the Gold Division, 16 Tornado tied for 3rd in Silver. 

·         April 3rd: 16 Avalanche tied for third in Gold at Club Wahine Tournament at Washington HS.

MARCH, 2004

 

·  March 26-28: 18 Storm, 17 Thunder, 16 Storm, 14 Storm, 14 Cyclone at Pacific Northwest Qualifier, Spokane. Notable finishes: 18 Storm 9th place in Gold Division; 14 Storm, 2nd Place in Bronze Division.

·  March 14th: 14 Storm Gold Division champions at Domino's Pizza Invite.

·  March 20-21: 18 Cyclone, 16 Cyclone, 16 tornado, 16 Avalanche, 15 Tempest, and 14 Cyclone at Adidas NW Juniors Spring Classic.  [RESULTS].

·  March 7th: 14 Cyclone tied for 5th in Gold Divisions at Sports For Youth Tournament at Highline College

·  March 7th: 15 Thunder at NW Juniors Tournament Kentwood High School.  15 thunder advanced to the Gold division and lost to KJ 16 Silver in the first round, finishing tied for 7th overall in the 16-team tournament.

JANUARY & FEBRUARY, 2004

 

·  February 28-29 -- Team Yakima Junior Jamboree: 18 Storm, 18 Cyclone, 17 Thunder, 16 Storm, 16 Cyclone, 15 Thunder, 14 Storm.  [RESULTS]

February 21 -- 14 Cyclone at Kentwood High School Sports For Youth Tournament, Gold Division Finish.

February 14-16 -- 18 Storm, 17 Thunder, 16 Storm, 15 Thunder, 14 Storm in NW Juniors President's Day Weekend Tournament.  All regional teams will work.  Good luck to all teams.
