Tony has been involved in the volleyball community for going on fifteen years now. He began his coaching career in 1989 when he began coaching for Northwest Juniors. He volunteered at Highline Community College in 1990 and then from 1991-1997 he was the head coach at Foster High School. He was the head coach in 1998 at Holy Names Academy. Besides all that, Tony has coached club for 15 seasons, all ranging from 16's-18's teams. Tony began his college coaching career in 1999, when he was a graduate assistant at Seattle Pacific University. The next year he was the first assistant coach and then in 2001 he began head coaching at Bellevue Community College, where his teams took 5th, 3rd, 5th, and 5th at the NWAACC championships in 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004 respectively. He was voted coach of the year in the Northern Division in 2001 & 2002, and in 2002 was voted all-NWAACC coach of the year. Along with all this he has also been directing Northwest Juniors VBC for six years. |

17 Thunder Head Coach
|
Kim is the assistant coach at Evergreen High School, and coached the Bonney Lake U17 team during the 2004 USA Volleyball season, she is a natural choice as head coach for the 17 Thunder team. Kim has a very impressive playing and coaching resume and has decided to make coaching a primary part of her life. Kim has worked with many teams in the Sumner area both during her high school years and since her return from Central Washington University. She played for Central Washington University, where she was a middle, from 1999 - 2003. Previous to that she played at Northwest Juniors and for Sumner High School. We are pleased to have another NW Juniors alum return to the fold. |

Chad was Kim's assistant last year with the Bonney Lake U17's team. He plays volleyball recreationally and has worked as a youth counselor in the past. |

17 Tempest Head Coach
|
This is Alicia's second year coaching here at Northwest Juniors, having coached the 15 Thunder team in 2004. From 2002-present she had been the JV coach at Juanita High School in Kirkland. Alicia played at Columbia River High School from 1996-1999, and played four years of club at: Cowlitz, Greater Columbia, and SW Wash Jrs. In 2000, Alicia also played at Bellevue Community College in 2000. |

17 Tempest Assistant Coach

Jenny has been with the club since it's early days. She is usually in the background as the club's business manager. She has acted as head and/or assistant coach for many teams over the past 10 years. Last year, Jenny came on board late in the season to help out with the 15 Thunder team. This year she again teams up with Alicia to coach the 17 Tempest team. The Alicia - Jenny combination makes for a very strong coaching team for the17 Tempest team. Jenny is an avid player and plays a lot of outdoor doubles in the Summer. |

16 Storm Head Coach

Tom returns fir his fourth year with Northwest Juniors . He had a successful season as the 16 Storm Head coach last year and was 15 Thunder head coach previously. He started as the 14 Storm assistant in 2002. In the fall of 2002, 2003, and 2004 Tom served as a volunteer assistant at Bellevue CC -- and works primarily with the setters. He has also coached five years for high school boys teams, three years for high school boys and three years for recreational teams. Tom was also a setter on the men's team at El Camino Junior College and Cal Poly Pomona. He has also played beach volleyball for 7 years and USVBA for four. |

16 Storm Assistant Coach

Charlie has been in volleyball for twelve years now. This is his third year with Northwest Juniors, having been head coach for 18 Cyclone in 2004 and assistant coach for 16 Storm in 2003. From 1992-1997 he was the volunteer assistant coach for Mountlake Terrace High School Varsity Volleyball. He was the head coach for Mariner High School from 1998 to 2002 and started coaching club volleyball in 1996. At the first club, Pacific Rim, he coached 16's and 18's. At the second club, Rain City, he coached 16's and 14's. After that he spent one year coaching 16's at Space Needle VB Foundation. Charlie has also been playing organized volleyball for five years, spending the first 3 with Rain City and currently he is the setter for Strike Force Volleyball Club (adult program). Charlie is also a certified official, and you can see him scorekeeping or doing lines at the occasional UW Match. |

16 Cyclone Head Coach

2005 marks the second season for Jason and Northwest Juniors. Fall of 2004 he was the Junior Varsity coach for Juanita High School. He has also worked for three years with the Special Olympics Qualified Teams. Jason has played volleyball actively for 17 years and plays either indoors or outdoors on the grass or sand. |

2005 will be the first year coaching club for April Barreras (formerly Helms). She is another former player for Tony Miranda at Foster High School who returns to coach for Northwest Juniors (joining Angela Burgess and Marla Tappero). April has been active as a player locally and played at Highline Community College for two years after graduating from Foster. We look forward to Aprils contributions this season. |

16 Tornado Head Coach

This will be Marla's second year as a coach for Northwest Juniors and has also coached at Kent View Christian High School. She currently coaches at Cedar Park Christian School in Bothell. Marla has played volleyball since the 7th grade and played high school varsity at Foster High School and Snohomish County Christian. Marla also plays in adult/college intramurals. |

16 Tornado Assistant Coach

Luke returns as Marla's assistant and will also be coaching with Northwest Volleyball for the second year. Previous to Northwest Juniors, Luke coached at Lakes High School. Luke has played for the Caribbean International Team and also plays in recreational volleyball leagues. |

Jill Bielenberg 16 Avalanche Head Coach

This is Jill's first season with Northwest Juniors. Jill is a recent transplant from Genesee, Idaho where she played high school, club and intramural volleyball (University of Idaho). Her previous coaching experience includes coaching the 7th grade team at Genesee JHS. Jill's background (and current employment) is in early childhood education. |

Dragan
comes to us from the Great Lakes Region, where he was extremely
active in the Junior Volleyball Community. Dragan was an
IMPACT Clinician in the Great Lakes Region along with being a member
of the Great Lakes Region Executive Board, Great Lakes Region Girls
Junior Coordinator, Great Lakes Region High Performance Camp Co Head
Administrator, a USA
Volleyball Junior National Referee, USA Volleyball Junior
National Staff Member and a IHSA Volleyball Coach at Evanston
Township High School and a certified IHSA Volleyball Official.
He is the current head coach at Cascade High School in
Everett. Dragan most recently coached three years for Adversity Volleyball Club (U18 Elite Coach) after 12 years of being at the helm of his own, Dragon's Volleyball Club. In 1998, Dragan was named USAV Junior Club Director of the Year and in 1995 Dragan earned the Great Lakes Region Meritorious Service Award. Dragan is IMPACT, ASEP, CAP I Certified and a member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). Given his extensive experience, Dragan has also been selected as the Puget Sound Region's High Performance Program Director as well as Junior Tournament Director. Dragan was also recently elected to serve on the USA Volleyball Junior Girls Competition Commission. |

Jon is a first year coach with Northwest Juniors. He has previous experience as a Youth Sports coach for the YMCA. Jon also organized, coached and played with various sports teams in the Army. |

Angela Burgess-Lamb 15 Tempest Head Coach

Angela started coaching career as an assistant with Northwest Juniors (15 Tempest) in 2003. This will be her second year at the helm of the 15 Tempest team. She has played since high school though, at Foster High and also played at Highline Community College for two years in 1998 and 1999. |

Vince was head coach for the 16 Avalanche team in 2004, and this year, due to work commitments, returns as an assistant coach. His addition to the 15 Tempest coaching staff makes it another one of the many great staffs at Northwest Juniors for 2005. In 2003, Vince was an volunteer coach at Roosevelt High School, and was the assistant varsity coach at Bush Academy in 2002. Before this, Vince was in California at the University of California, Berkeley. Here, Vince was the head of the Volleyball Intramural Program, and did refereeing for 3 years for the Intramural Program. Vince played for 3 years at University High School in CA where he was a DS/Outside, and also played 1 year of club at Capo Valley as a Setter. Vince was also involved in playing for the Intramural Program at Berkeley and did so for 4 years. |

14 Cyclone Head Coach |
We are delighted to have Margo Gockel back as the Head coach of the 14 Cyclone team. Margo returned to coaching last year after a one-year recovery from ACL surgery. She brings with her a wealth of coaching and playing experience. She has been playing volleyball for over Twenty-Five years, including one year at Seattle University, two years at Bellevue Community College, and three years at Sammamish High School. Margo also has played six years of organized volleyball in Seattle’s and Bellevue’s adult programs. From 1996-2001 she had been Head coach for 12’s, 13’s, and 14’s at CYO volleyball winning two All City Championships. Margo’s daughter Jessica Gockel, had played two years for Northwest Juniors and is currently playing volleyball at the University of Portland (Div 1). |

Pamela Bracy 14 Cyclone Assistant Coach

This is Pam's first year as an assistant coach with Northwest Juniors. She has been the head coach at Washington Middle School for the last three years. Pam has also coached with CYO. We look forward to having Pam on our coaching staff. | |

13 Thunder Head Coach
|
Joanna is another young coach that recently moved to the Seattle area and will join the Northwest Juniors staff for the first time. She brings with her extensive experience, though. For the past two seasons, while a student at Washington State University, Joanna has coached for Palouse Juniors. She has been a head coach for their U14 team and a U16 assistant coach. She is IMPACT certified and also assists at Garfield-Palouse High School in the Fall. Joanna's playing history includes 4 years varsity at Quincy High School (it's on the map somewhere) 2 years with Big Bend Juniors, two years with Columbia Basin Juniors, and 2 years with the WSU Women's Volleyball Club, which placed 5th at club Nationals in 2001. Student teaching in the Kent School District brings Joanna to the Seattle area, we look forward to her contribution to Northwest Juniors Volleyball Club. |

13 Tempest Head Coach
|
Sherry is a recent transplant from Michigan and Florida. Sherry graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Daytona, FL) in 2000, where she walked on her freshman year, then earned a full-ride scholarship and played all four years there. After graduation, Sherry assisted 16's, 17's and 18's teams for Daytona Beach Juniors. She then moved back to her home town of Dearborn Michigan and volunteered at her alma mater as an assistant coach of the Varsity and JV. Sherry remains active as a player and has been involved with volleyball (as a player and coach) for 14 years. We are pleased to have someone with this experience coaching our youngsters. |

This is Lindsey's first foray into the coaching field. Lindsey is a recent High School graduate (Juanita High School) and a student at Shoreline Community College. She has played volleyball six years and plans to study Teaching in college. |
