Northwest Juniors Volleyball Club Financial Aid

2012-2013 SEASON

Each year Northwest Volleyball, Inc. creates a scholarship fund to help those players in financial need.  Through Northwest Junior’s club fundraisers, private donations, and other programs we strive to raise funds to help those players who cannot fully afford the club volleyball experience, while at the same time promoting volleyball to a greater demographic throughout the greater Seattle area, the Eastside, Edmonds/Lynnwood and South Everett as well as promote ethnic and economic diversity.

Our Scholarship Committee distributes the monies raised each year to as many eligible families as possible. Generally, we provide only partial award amounts toward total base program fees (travel costs are not covered) to provide financial assistance to as many scholarship applicants as possible. Only in rare circumstances are we able to offer full support.

Consideration for scholarship awards are only given to those players who actively participate in our yearbook fundraiser by procuring ads to assist in fulfilling their club financial obligations.  The cost of the yearbook ads are applied at 100% (after the first $50.00) up to the total amount due for each player’s financial responsibility.  Details will be reviewed and questions answered at the first club meeting and are also available on our website.

The following factors are also considered in determining who is qualified to receive scholarship funding:
1. Financial Need
2. Seniority in the Club
3. Number of Siblings Currently Playing in the Club

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICANT PROCESS:
1. Download and Complete the Financial Aid Request Form. SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

2. Attach a completed copy of the previous year's tax return, from both parents, and all other pertinent information.  Scholarship Requests will not be accepted without this.

All information is kept confidential by the members of the Scholarship Committee. The Scholarship Committee will review all requests and determine who will receive Scholarship awards and the amount to be awarded to each. We will notify each Applicant prior to the due date of the second installment payment of the Club program fees.

Notes:

  • Local team players are not eligible for scholarships.

  • Most of our awards are distributed to Elite team players first, and Regional team players second.

  • Scholarship priority goes to athletes that choose club volleyball first.  If your athlete is playing other sports and may be a "part time" club player, you will be lower on the priority list.  Remember, when it comes to our Elite teams, we expect near 100% attendance for all of our athletes when it comes to club activities, practices, and tournaments.
