Power League Seeding |
|
We had a decent tournament. We went
in as the #20 seed overall out of over 80 teams and you always wonder
(as a U13 team) if you should be seeded that high. The team
stepped up today and proved that they do belong in the top 20 of the
region. They beat the teams they were supposed to beat and lost a
couple close matches when they had a chance to move up. Best match
of the day was a loss, they lost a close 3-set match to Lake 14-Blue.
Held seed at #20 |

Power League #1 |
2-3 |
Flight #3 for
the first seeding Power league -- at Franklin Pierce HS. We
finished second in pool play after losing a tough match to ITVC 14
Black. A loss in the crossover match and we ended up right where
we started at #20. Grace Jarnigan was selected as the tournament
MVP after a good overall performance as a setter and an opposite. |

Power League #2 |
4-1 |
What a great
day for the 13 Heat team! We won our pool, sweeping Puget Sound 13
National, Lake 14-Red, and Synergy 13 Purple. In the crossover, a
convincing win over Evergreen Jrs. 14-1 (avenging the first round loss
at last power league) guaranteed a move up to flight 2. A loss of
focus in the final match resulted in a loss to Synergy 13 Purple.
Regardless, the team is moving up to Flight 2, and now holds the #18
seed overall in the region. |

Presidents Weekend |

Tough
weekend, having to play in the 14 Open. But if you want to be the
best, you have to play the best. Saturday was tough, playing 3
tough U14 teams and going 0-3. Sunday was a "little" better; even
though we went 1-2 on Sunday, it was still good enough to win the
tie-breaker in a 3-way tie for second (and ANOTHER win over WVBA 13)..
net result, we get to play in the 14 Open Bronze Division. Monday
brought a better outlook: a convincing win over Sudden Impact 13,
followed by a very satisfying win over Synergy 13 Purple (some say
satisfying, some say dominating). A loss in the final to a very
tough Umpqua 13 Nike team meant a second place finish in the bronze and
18th place in the 14 Open (18th out of 48 teams total) and the highest
finishing PSR U13 team in the tournament. |
