Yakima Jamboree |
We tied for 3rd in Division II of Challenge which places us 11th in Challenge overall. A huge turn around from first Power League where we only won a few matches. Ashley Shardelman and Hannah Gruber were serving very well - both of them had a 8 and 9 point runs on two different occasions! Dana Hasert had at least eight block kills, Catherine Michael and Macie Hudson both played outstanding defense serving as our Liberos and Marielle Dunavant did an amazing job leading the team as our setter. |

Power League |
March 1, 2009 |
14 Cyclone took FIRST in our flight this Sunday. Everyone played so well it would be hard to single anyone out but a few points to mention. Exceptional serving by Ashley Shardelman, Julia Wegley and Hannah Gruber who all three ended up with at least one 7 point run. Our setters Maria Malafronte and Marielle Dunavante displayed excellent leadership by making great offensive choices and staying communicative, loud and on top of their game throughout. Macie Hudson and Catherine Michael led the team in defense letting practically nothing hit the floor all day and Dana Hasert was up at the net pounding over feeds down and blocking almost everything they managed to hit at us! They were AWESOME!! |
| Spring Classic | March 14-15 |
We took first in our division again!!! Second day started out slow but
we picked it up and went completely undefeated into second pool and
tournament bracket!! Congratulations to Catherine Michael for
outstanding defense, Allison Lange, Ashley Shardelman and Hannah Gruber
for excellent serving, again! Also our middles Dana and Marisa started
running 1’s this tournament and had a ton of kills and Maria Malfronte
for setting them up perfectly over and over again! Noel Lyngholm played
excellent offense as an outside hitting cut shots against Sabotage!
