The MLK tournament was a tough tournament for 15 Thunder. We struggled with serve receive and had trouble staying focused in match play. This tournament helped the team see where we need to improve to become competitive and meet the team’s goals. During the tournament Thunder did have several high points. Misty Siochi was a consistent threat from the outside with 25 kills while leading the team in passing average. Colleen Pinkleman also had an outstanding service tournament and had 17 aces adding to her 26 digs. |
| Power League | 2-7 | The first power league was a good learning experience for 15 Thunder. After some up and down play we ended the two day tournement ranked 16th in the region. On the first day after placing third in our pool we faced Sabatage 15's in the crossover match. After loosing a tough match 21-25 we then responded with a 25-18 win to force a third set. In the third we quickly took the lead and never looked back winning 15-9. The second day we faced some tough competition as we faced the top 16 teams in the region. We responded at times playing teams close, but ended up dropping to Bronze for the next power league. Leading the team with 13 aces Sam Rogers also established a strong presence in the middle posting 24 kills. Anna Tremblay also added 68 assists. |
| Power League | 3-2 | 15 Thunder struggled in Power League #2. We had an excellent start to the day putting away Lynnwood Spike It 25-20 and 25-12 in the first match of pool play. However we were unable to continue the momentum and lost the next two matches leading to a third place pool play finish. This left us fighting to stay in Bronze against Evergreen Jrs. After winning a close first set 26-24 we lost focus and lost the second 20-25 setting up a third deciding set. Thunder proved up to the challenge, taking the lead at the turn winning 15-10. We then took care of Lynnwood again to finish 5th. Misti Siochi was again a consistent threat from the outside recording 22 kills and hitting over .200. We also had strong production out of Chelsea Cameron who provided 42 assists and Brittany LaBossior who collected 30 digs from the Libero position. Colleen Pickleman led the team with 12 aces. |
