16 Cyclone 2008 Coaches Corner

16 Cyclone competed in the PSR Power League this weekend. They must have had their wheaties that morning of May 1st because their performance was better than ever. We showed up 3rd in our pool and made it a goal to improve our seed. After a slow start against OPVBC 16-2 which resulted in an unpleasant loss, they pulled themselves together to beat SWVBC 15 Power. This was a testament to their improvement as a month prior we were sent packing by the same team.
SWVBC 15 Power was but a warm-up for what was to come. The next match was against ITVC 16 Blue, who were well on their way to sweeping the pool. 16 Cyclone rose to the challenge and beat the mighty Island Thunder in three exhilarating games. Because of this win, the girls went on to win first in their pool! In bracket play we saw defeat at the hands of Puyallup Jrs., but that does not take away from 16 Cyclone's awesome performance, and extraordinary improvement. |
