Tournament Format

The format for the PNQ 2004 will be 2/3 games per match, rally scoring, win by two, with no cap. Undeciding games will be played to 25, and deciding games will be played to 15.

Pool play will begin at 8:00 a.m. Friday, March 26. This tournament is one of USA Volleyball's National Qualifiing Tournaments and is governed by the rules set forth by them. (You can download the Qualifier Manual at USA Volleyball's web site.) It is a mandated 3-day tournament with teams starting play on Friday morning. If your team cannot play all three days, then do not enter this tournament. Teams will be placed in a morning or afternoon wave for two days of pool play with all teams advancing to single-elimination playoffs on the third day. Since we cannot determine where a team will finish or how late a team will finish on Sunday (the last match is usually "scheduled" for 2 p.m.), teams should plan to not travel until the evening, especially those teams traveling by plane.

AM Wave Friday, 8:00 a.m. : U14, U15, U17

Check-In

All teams are required to check-in. Failure to do so may disqualify your team from the tournament. Teams will be able to check in at the West Coast Ridpath Hotel between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., on Thursday, March 25. Teams arriving later than 9:00 p.m. should notify the registrar PRIOR to March 22, 2004 so arrangements can be made for you to pick up your packet Friday morning. All coaches should be carrying a copy of their team's roster (with all USAV #'s) and medical release forms for ALL players. Coaches will be asked for these items upon checking in, so please have all items available. Coaches will also need to verify and sign the roster that was submitted and verify referee/scorekeeper certification for their players. If a club director/assistant coach is checking in for a team, he/she MUST have these items. Check-in will be done by age-division. There will be a coaches' meeting at 9:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the West Coast Ridpath Hotel.
